Day Camp Assistant provides educational instruction to kids enrolled in the History Mystery Summer Day Camp at the Benton County Historical Society. The Day Camp Assistant should have patience in working with children, good leadership skills, and an appetite for fun!

Day Camp Assistant Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with and support the lead instructor in creating a positive day camp experience for every camper
- Enthusiastically help children explore, make friends and have fun
- Manage behavior issues, paying attention to the social and emotional safety of each child
- Set up learning stations each day
- Lead ice breaker games and other teambuilding games
- Teach crafts related to history curriculum
- Prepare snack while following food safety guidelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Enthusiasm for working with kids with patience and a sense of humor
- The desire to work in a mixed setting indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Previous experience working with children in community or education program
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to walk, bend and lift 20 pounds
- Must successfully pass a background check
- College coursework and or work experience related to history, anthropology, natural sciences, agriculture, youth development, youth education or related field.
