Using the Project 562 Learning Guide, developed by critically acclaimed social documentarian and photographer Matika Wilbur, we will investigate the ways we can transform, indigenize and decolonize our lives right here in Benton County.
Participants will gather for three sessions on Wednesdays at noon at the Corvallis Museum. We will discuss themes from the exhibit, Project 562: Changing the way we see Native America. Using resources such as podcasts, articles, and other indigenous-created media, participants will be asked to complete a small amount of homework before each discussion session. These resources will be provided for free; there is no need to purchase any curriculum or books.
Limited to 20 participants. Pre-registration required. This workshop is free; donations to support our history and cultural education programs are always welcome!
Preview the curriculum: A downloadable copy of the curriculum guide is available on the Project 562 website.
Participants are welcome to bring their own food to eat during these noon sessions. This "lunch and learn" atmosphere is intended to be a welcoming, casual environment. As we discuss ways to decolonize and indigenize our communities, sharing food together can be a great place to start.
