This docent-led tour dives deeper into the exhibit CALYX Inc,: A Herstory of Radical Resilience.
Learn about the founding and legacy of CALYX Journal, established in 1976 and headquartered in Corvallis, Oregon, with the mission to champion women’s and nonbinary voices in literature and art. Drawing from original materials from the organization’s earliest years, the exhibit traces how CALYX grew from a radical local publication into an internationally respected literary institution. The story of CALYX is a story of Radical Resilience, one in which women have worked together for over 50 years to resist exclusionary systems, insisting that no one voice, aesthetic, or politic should dominate.
Tour lasts about 30 minutes. Appropriate for teens and adults.
Included with museum admission. Please pre-register for the tour and pay admission at the door.
